‘I Will Never Find Friends!’ Adopted Girl Cries When No One Comes to Her B-Day Party – Story of the Day

A girl waited for her classmates to show up at her birthday party for an hour before her adoptive mother told her no one would come. “No one wants to be friends with me!” the girl cried. Little did she know that she would make new friends at an unexpected place a few hours later.

After Lily began living with her adoptive family, she had to start her life from scratch. The little girl had to make friends at her new school and adjust to her new house simultaneously.

A week after joining a school, one of Lily’s classmates invited everyone to her birthday party. When Lily saw how everyone was excited to attend the other girl’s birthday party, she thought of an idea.

Later that day, she went home and told her adoptive mother, Samantha, about it. “A girl in my class invited everyone to her birthday party this weekend!” Lily said.

“Oh, wow!” Samantha exclaimed. “You can wear your favorite skirt to the party, Lily.”

Lily nodded and then told her mother about the idea. “I want to host a party here next month on my birthday, mom. Do you think that’s a good idea?”

“Yes, you can invite your classmates. I will bake a delicious chocolate cake for you, sweetheart!” Samantha replied cheerfully.

Lily thought inviting her classmates to her birthday party would allow her to interact and make new friends. She felt this was her chance to impress everyone at school.

A month later, Lily made personalized handwritten invites for her classmates and distributed them in class. “I hope you all will come to my house tomorrow!” she said.

“Don’t worry, Lilly,” a girl replied. “We will be there!”

The next day, Lily wore the new dress her adoptive mother bought her as a birthday present. She also helped Samantha bake the birthday cake and set the dinner table.

“Your friends will be here any minute, sweetheart,” Samantha said. “Why don’t you freshen up?”

“Okay. I’ll be back in five minutes.”

Lily expected her classmates to arrive in ten minutes, but an hour later, she was still waiting for them. “Why isn’t anyone here yet?” Lily asked Samantha.

The little girl waited a few more minutes for her classmates until her adoptive mother told her the bitter truth. “Sweetheart, I don’t think they are coming here today,” Samantha held Lily’s hand and caressed her shoulder.

“I don’t know, Lily. They might be busy or something,” Samantha tried to come up with excuses. She understood Lily’s classmates had lied to her about attending the party. They only wanted to get off the hook when she invited them.
