Five Guys customers criticize restaurant for ‘out of control’ prices after sharing cost of meal for one

People are taking to social media to share their complaints about the price of a meal for one person at Five Guys.

The chain has long been known as one of the pricier outlets for getting a burger on the high street.

Five Guys positions itself as a premium outlet, starting with a higher price point. While the burgers cost more, any extras such as ketchup or pickles are included in the initial price, so there aren’t any extra charges for more toppings.

It might market itself as a premium outlet, but customers are becoming increasingly frustrated with how much it now costs to get a burger.

One customer took to social media recently to share a receipt which came to a total of $24.10 for just one person.

This included a bacon cheeseburger for $12.49, a regular soda for $2.89, and portion of fries for $5.19.

We’ve already mentioned the extra toppings being included, but there are also things like using fresh ingredients rather than frozen, as well as cooking their fries in peanut oil.

While this is a better frying oil than others, it is also a lot more expensive.

Nonetheless, people weren’t impressed with the price, and took to Twitter to share their concerns.

One person replied: “Fast food becoming a luxury meal is a sign of the times.”

Another said: “It’s always been like that. I would rather buy a steak at the store at this point.”

But another shared that given how expensive some ingredients are, the price was actually reassuring in a way.
