Walmart will be closed on Thanksgiving, November 28. According to a company spokesperson, stores will shut down at 11 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, and reopen at 6 a.m. on Friday, November 29. This policy reflects a statement by Walmart President and CEO John Furner in 2022, when he said remaining open on Thanksgiving is “a thing of the past.”

All U.S. Costco warehouses will take a break for the holiday, continuing the company’s tradition of staying closed during major family-centered occasions.

Sam’s Club, known for its membership-only warehouse services, will also close, allowing employees time to celebrate with their loved ones.

Home improvement needs will have to wait, as Home Depot stores will be closed for the holiday. Operations will resume at 6 a.m. on Friday, November 29. Shoppers are encouraged to check local store hours before heading out.

While most Wegmans stores will be open on Thanksgiving, a few will remain closed for the holiday. These include all locations in Massachusetts—Burlington, Chestnut Hill, Northborough, Medford, and Westwood—as well as the Brooklyn store in New York and the Alexandria store in Virginia.

While most Whole Foods Market locations will be open on Thanksgiving, a few will remain closed for the holiday. These include the Bryant Park store in New York, all locations in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and all stores in Maine except for the Portland location. Shoppers are encouraged to confirm hours with their local store before visiting.

Lowe’s stores nationwide, including those in Hawaii, California, and New York, will be closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, following the company’s tradition of allowing associates and customers time to celebrate with loved ones.

Target stores will also remain shut on Thanksgiving, continuing its recent tradition of pausing operations for the holiday. Stores will reopen the following day with normal hours to kick off Black Friday sales.

Most Whole Foods Market locations will be open on Thanksgiving with adjusted hours, generally operating between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. Some variations include Huntsville, Alabama, closing at 9 p.m., while most New York stores, such as NoMad and Columbus Circle, will follow the 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. schedule.
