Kelly Clarkson Hints Her Kids See Their Dad Only a Few Days a Month after Messy Divorce

Kelly Clarkson’s publicized divorce from Brandon Blackstock and the aftermath of their separation have undoubtedly changed their daily lives. The couple now navigates co-parenthood, with Kelly sharing insights into life with her kids.

Kelly Clarkson has given fans a glimpse into the challenges of co-parenting her children, River Rose and Remington Alexander Blackstock, ages nine and seven, with their father only a few days a month.

The singer recently shared insights into her parenting philosophy and revealed her decision not to allow her kids on social media until they turn 18. This parenting choice aligns with her commitment to protecting her children from the public because of her celebrity status.

However, should River and Remington be allowed to use social media under their dad’s roof, Kelly does not contest. “Well, you’re there four days a month,” Kelly told her daughter. “Enjoy that.” Fortunately, Kelly and Brandon refuse to allow their kids to use social media.

Besides her rules at home, Kelly does not categorize herself as a helicopter mom and enjoys seeing her kids being independent. Nevertheless, she is a hands-on mom who wants to be with her kids as much as possible amidst a divorced family setup.

Kelly, who filed for divorce in June 2020 after almost seven years of marriage, faced legal complexities. The couple settled their divorce in March 2022, outlining the terms of child custody and child support.

The host was granted primary custody of River and Remington, while Brandon can enjoy one weekend per month with the kids. She was also asked to pay spousal support of $115,000 monthly until January 2024 and child support of $45,600.

In addition, Kelly had to pay $1.3 million as part of their settlement. The final agreement came after she expressed the need to enforce their prenup agreement.

Throughout her divorce proceedings, Kelly has consistently expressed her devotion to motherhood. As part of wanting the best for her kids, she moved to New York to create a stable environment for her children amidst the divorce.
