The FBI agent moved closer. “Ma’am, hand over the baby now, or we’ll be forced to intervene.”

Abby hesitated, tears streaming down her face. James looked stunned, as if he hadn’t fully comprehended the gravity of the situation. “Abby,” James said softly, “please, let them take care of Logan. This has gone too far.”
