On March 12, 2023, Andie MacDowell, then 64, was glowing as she appeared at the Oscar Awards where she brought one of her daughters, Rainey Qualley, then 33, as her date. The star and her oldest daughter looked stunning as they walked the red carpet together.

Besides Rainey, the actress was also a mother to a son, Justin Qualley, then 37, and another daughter, Margaret Qualley, 28. The “Maid” star shared all her three children with her ex-husband, Paul Qualley.

The celebrity made waves on social media for choosing to go with her gray hair all made up. Some people have tried to pressure the actress not to go natural with her looks, but she stuck to what worked for her.

MacDowell and Rainey were both dressed in black, with the actress appearing in a black gown with two different shoulder straps. Her daughter wore a strapless dress that featured crisscross detailing on the side.

At one point, the star and her daughter posed together on the red carpet, where they smiled while giving each other warm hugs. People shared a Facebook post with two images showing how well MacDowell had aged, but followers were quite critical.

Someone noted how “beautiful” the celebrity was, but felt “she needs better eyebrows.” Another person also praised the actress’s looks, but said they were surprised Rainey’s mother didn’t wear her hair down, adding:

“She looks matronly with it like that.”

A third fan also agreed that MacDowell had to “do something with her brows.” The star’s eyebrows weren’t the only thing that stood out about the actress, who proudly sported her gorgeous gray mane.

Rainey’s mother shared how she was comfortable with where she currently was in life. MacDowell said she wanted to embrace being real and honest with those around her, but also herself, with her noting:

The “Four Weddings and a Funeral” actress said she had been kowtowing to everyone’s beliefs, but now she wanted to look her age and be where she was. In 2021, MacDowell shared the story of how she realized she looked good natural.

The star said the first time she stopped coloring her hair she went to a grocery store. At the time there wasn’t any other place for her to go to and she thought she looked good, before seeing a man she described as a “silver fox.”
